Sit Down and Write Check-In #2/ROW80 Mid-Week Check-In #sitdownwrite

Oh yes, the fail is strong once again. It always seems that life wants to get in the way. Number one, I got my first client for my job (virtual assistant...yup, I work from home) which is a great thing, of course, because it means more hours and more money, but I'm even more busy than I was, if that's even possible. Secondly? Well, I went to the doctor yesterday because I suspected the cellulitis was back in my left leg and I was right. Thankfully, we caught it early enough and he put me on strong oral antibiotics. But with any major infection, you just feel run down so there's another hurdle for me. But I'm soldiering on and hoping to salvage the last week of Sit Down and Write.

So, reconfiguring my goals. I'm not going to set a daily word count because I'm not even sure if I'm going to continue with my current WIP. My goal then is to make that decision and go forward with what I decide. I did manage to write one book review, but I still have a few more to write. I have not revamped the 101 Fantasy Challenge. Still hoping to do that. And I have not started morning pages yet. I really hope to start that tomorrow. We'll see.

Yes, I am quite ambiguous with my's how I roll. =O/

I'm not going to put a linky this time. If you want to link up your progress or book reviews, you can leave the link in the comments.

Happy Writing!

  1. Real life is such a WIP killer. I feel your pain. It's good that you can reconfigure your goals, though. I hope you feel better soon!

  2. Thanks, AmyBeth! I appreciate you stopping by.

  3. Hi Michelle,

I am glad you made it to the doctor's and I hope you are feeling better! I know what you mean about getting thrown off of course by unexpected medical stuff though, I am still dealing with dental issues and that has greatly impacted my writing. I just linked up my first 4 review on the Week 1 linky and I will be writing more this weekend, but I had a few days where the pain was too much this week and I was out on pain meds!

Hang in there though - I know that whatever you do - you'll rock!

(By the way, how do you get all of those books to appear on your Currently Reading sidebar in the cool little block? Your stack looks like my desk pile!)

    Have an awesome week!

    Create With Joy

  4. Focus on your health is priority! When I'm not well, I simply don't have the energy to write and do whatever else needs to be done. Kick back and rest. Be good to you. The rest will get done when you're better.

  5. Thanks! I'm already feeling much better and my leg is hardly showing any signs of cellulitis now. Thank goodness for strong antibiotics. I hope you get past your dental issues soon.

Are you on Goodreads? That's where I got the block. It's a configurable widget on Goodreads. If you're on there, go to your bookshelf and scroll down and in the left sidebar, you'll see under tools 'widgets'. They have several options you can choose from.

I'll check out your reviews soon. Thanks for visiting!

  6. Thanks! I'm feeling much better already. Just so glad we caught it early before I got really sick.

  7. Michelle,

Sounds like your goals are great ones that will move your toward a place of less ambiguity. Sometimes, that's what we need to do before we can move forward.

Sometimes, life needs to have all of our energy and focus, but, after, the writing gets better.

This doesn't feel like failure, to me. It feels like a realistic approach in trying times.

    I'm glad you're feeling better. =)
